Reflections on my Full Round Collection
After a career of speaking through the voice of relief sculpture - may I now present to you the first, finished, full-round bronzes that I have created in 20+ years.
In truth, when I settled into the initial clay work on these pieces, I wondered what would come of the endeavor.
To sculpt in relief, I am always visualizing my work in full round - however, it was something of an otherly exercise to allow a sculpture to remain 3 dimensional in real space, without implementing my instinctive predilection to super-compress their planes.
That being said, to undertake these sculptures has been a fascinating opportunity to differently implement my design skills - and to see them completed in bronze is a genuine joy.
Mind is now vibrating with fresh compositions ... Here is to the road ahead!
