MAYFLIES AND TROUT RISE, OKUTAMA RIVER
IS HONORED IN NATIONAL SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
This past week the Jury of Awards consisting of Simon Kogan, FNSS; Roger Martin, FNSS; and Burton E. Moore III, Director, Audubon Gallery, met to review the works which are currently on display in the National Sculpture Society's 83rd Annual Awards Exhibition. I am thrilled to forward the news that my work, Mayflies and Trout Rise Okutama River, has been acknowledged as noteworthy within the show through the award of the Pietro and Alfrieda Montana Memorial Prize.
Each year this prize is awarded to a sculpture recognized as "an outstanding work, either carved or cast."
In a show which represents such a profound body of exceptional works, I am humbled and honored by the receipt of such a validation of my sculptural undertakings.
My deepest and sincerest thanks to the members of the jury as well as to each and every person who has contributed to making this year's 83rd Annual Exhibition a reality. - JDW
